What’s the “big thing” you want to do this year? Travel? Move? Pay down debt? Write each goal down, and reference them often as income comes in to ensure you are paying towards your goal.

2. Adjust Your Budget

Budgets make for an excellent guide to your weekly, monthly, or annual finances, but it’s always good to remember that they aren’t set in stone and can be adjusted. Life will happen and things will change, so take some time every once in a while to see where you are, what’s going on, and adjust accordingly. 3. Shred, Shred, Shred

With tax season in full bloom, it’s the perfect opportunity to go through your older financial documents. Scan the documents you need to back them up, but destroy any older files with personal information that you may not need anymore.

4. Get Rid of the Clutter

Can’t stuff anything else in your closet or under your bed? Make a few extra bucks by having a yard sale or donating those clothing and other items you don’t need anymore. Every dollar adds up.
