Top 10 Weird Things Celebrities Insure
When it comes to insurance, many people wonder if they have too much or too little. It’s a fine balance, and the right amount is different for each person — and, this is especially true in the case of celebrities. Here are ten things that celebrities have insured that will make whatever amount of coverage you just bought seem reasonable.
1. Keith Richards’ Fingers
That’s right. Rolling Stones lead guitarist had his hands covered for $1.6 million. And if you think about it, $1.6 million isn’t that much for the hands that handle the Sympathy for the Devil solo.
2. Troy Polamalu’s Hair
The Pittsburgh Steelers safety sports a doo worth a million bucks, quite literally. Ever since picking up a sponsorship from Head and Shoulders shampoo, protecting his precious locks became a necessity.
3. Papa John’s Hands

Founder of Papa John’s, John Schnatter, has upwards of $15 million of coverage on his hands. When it comes to tossing a pie, he is not messing around.
4. Tom Jones’ Chest Hair
This Welsh signer apparently places a lot of value in his follicles. Seven million dollars of value to be exact. Beware of Nair, Tom Jones.
5. Bruce Springsteen’s Vocal Chords

Early in his career, Bruce Springsteen took out an insurance policy in the amount of $3.5 million. Varying accounts report he now has up to $6 million in coverage for his voice. The boss protects his vocal chords with a “Hungry Heart.”
6. David Beckham’s Body
The pro soccer legend took no chances with individual parts and decided to cover his entire body for a whopping total of $195 million. Most people call that “Health Insurance”.
7. Gene Simmons’ Tongue

At the height of his career, Simmons allegedly took out a $1 million policy on his tongue. This really needs no explanation. It’s Gene Simmons.
8. America Ferrera’s Smile

The “Ugly Betty” signature grin is also pretty valuable. Aquafresh White Trays bought the $10 million policy as part of fundraiser for the charity Smiles for Success. At $10 million, her pearly whites are worth a lot more than your standard trip to the dentist office (and probably worth more than your dentist office too).
9. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Legs

As the most commonly insured body part of celebrities, Ronaldo presents one the few cases where the coverage is solely for athletic purposes. His team took out a policy worth 90-million pounds to ensure they don’t have to continue paying his salary if he’s hurt.
10. Rich Hall’s Sense of Humor
If you thought you had trouble claiming losses, Rich Hall is on a whole different level. The American comedian claimed to have insured his sense of humor for 1 million pounds.
